Bienvenido, loyal reader. Please join Bruce and Mary in their quest for the perfect quesadilla. Provecho!
We have walked by Sazon del Pueblo y para El Pueblo (seasoning of the people and for the people) maybe a hundred times here on Insurgentes, entre Caranza y Cardenaz, and finally, this day we stopped in.
The finished product, but not its final stage…
Which is here at a local cantina, Ballena Azul, the Blue Whale. We had ordered this quesadilla para llevar, to-go and now we are enjoying it with a couple of cervezas. It is more than enough to fill us both up and it is w/o question the best quesadilla we have ever had. But wait, there’s more…
Mary is so impressed with the coffee, she just has to know more. Joaquin gets his beans from somewhere in the mountains and then adding cinnamon, he boils the ground coffee, that is the secret. We have been adding cinnamon to the grounds in our drip coffeemakers for years and had never been able to duplicate that exquisite Mexican coffee taste. Finally, now we know.
Here’s a cultural moment for us. While we’re enjoying eggs for breakfast, this family is feasting on liver and onions washed down with… Coke!
And the main menu board. You can find cheaper quesadillas, just up the street as a matter of fact, but you won’t find better ones than right here, at Sazon del Pueblo y Para el Pueblo. We will happily pay the small premium.
Thanks for visiting, gentle reader. As usual, Bruce and Mary enjoy any and all feedback. Hasta proximo Domingo!
